Peckover House

Peckover House is an elegant Georgian town house with a wonderful walled garden in Wisbech town centre.

It was a Georgian merchant's house and has many fine Victorian features, an orangery, summerhouses and fernery.

There's also the celebrated rococo plaster and wood carvings and a 17th-century thatched barn available for weddings and functions.

Peterborough Cathedral

The Cathedral is still the seat of the Bishop of Peterborough, as it has been since the Diocese was created in 1541. Worship, enhanced and supported by a long choral tradition, still takes place every day.

The Cathedral is used for many functions including exhibitions, concerts and school outings. There is a permanent exhibition depicting the life of the Cathedral and the daily life of a Benedictine monk. There are also working scale models of how the Cathedral was constructed

Burghley House, Stamford

One of the finest country homes in the whole of the United Kingdom is situated less than a mile from the centre of Stamford, Burghley House is famous for its yearly sporting event, The Burghley Horse Trials which attracts competitors and visitors alike from all over the world. The house and grounds can only be described as stunning and must be considered as one of the finest Elizabethan houses in the whole of England if not Europe.

With several high turrets and spires jutting out from the main building its takes on a truly majestic look, with acres of lawns and land surrounding the house, the gardens are quite beautiful and wild deer can still be seen roaming the grounds. The house is open to the public and guided tours take place most days, the inside of the house is quite beautiful and certainly worth a visit.
